So… today I spent almost an hour after massage with master cracker. We had a really great time. My plan was to treat him today so we had our chat over some snacks and Coke. I found him very curious about all what I do. So I decided to tell him the whole story. He was surprised to know that there is no such service in the United States because, for an average Indian, America has everything you can think of. How come the head massage service is not there? Then he offered me to open an Indian Barber shop there and promised me that he will work there. I started laughing at him and said that it’s not that easy. It’s not as simple as it is in India.
He offered me to visit his native place which is 5 hours of drive from my place. Then I started asking him about his family.
It feels so good when you get to connect with someone in person. Usually, the barbers are not the person considered as some you would like to hang around with. It’s never been a choice of profession in India.
Today I promised myself that whenever I’m capable, I’ll take him somewhere on vacation with my other friends. I want him to experience the life outside that barber shop. Nothing can come close to the feel of doing something worth memorable for someone. These barbers have lived their life underprivileged. I know I can’t change or make his future but I can make few days of his life worth shareable with everyone he gonna meet for rest of his life.
