DeSantis and Christie need to ‘quit’ telling Trump to attend debates

Republican presidential candidates Ron DeSantis and Chris Christie need to quit telling Donald Trump to attend the GOP primary debates, according to Republican strategist Liz Mair.

Her comments come after the former US president skipped the second Republican debate.

“One of the really interesting things and we saw this in 2016 also – when Trump skips debates other people move up,” Ms Mair told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.

“His flaw, the absolute minimum that’s he’s going to get, actually goes down.

“That happened after the last debate – I bet it’s going to happen after this debate.”
