5 WAYS to use GENERATIVE FILL for Real Estate Photography

Let’s start by quickly explaining how to access and use the generative fill tool.

At the time of filming this video, the generative fill tool is only available to Adobe Creative Cloud users who have the most recent version of Photoshop Beta installed. To install it, just open up the Creative Cloud desktop application, select ‘Beta Apps’ from the sidebar, and then select ‘install’. You may be able to skip this step if the feature is integrated into standard Photoshop in the future.

Once you open up Photoshop Beta, open up an image, and then use the lasso selection tool - or any of the other selection tools - to select the area where you want the generative fill to be applied. It doesn’t have to be a perfect selection, so just get the general area right.

You’ll see a small toolbar appear directly underneath your image, which includes a Generative Fill button. Click the button, then type in what you want to generate, and hit the Enter key.

After a short period of time, Photoshop will generate three different options for you to choose from. And if you don’t like any of them, you can just keep repeating the process. It’s as simple as that!

This feature is pretty mind-blowing. You can take a simple thumbnail image of a person and generate a complete environment around them in only seconds.
