Black Bear Gets Into The Garbage

Woke up this morning at about quarter to five to some loud crashing noises. At first I wondered what in the world are the neighbors doing at such an early hour.

Then it started to occur to me that it was possibly a bear. So I looked out the window of the front door, and sure enough there was a black bear pawing and sniffing through the garbage from the tipped-over trash can.

I switched on the porch light, opened the door and yelled "HEY!" at it, and it ran away into the woods behind my house as fast as it could.

The bear's wet footprints could still be seen on the cement for some time after the incident.
