Why? Because just about no country—certainly not the US—can justify the switch from “fossil fuel reliant” to “China reliant.”

And that’s the reality of the energy transition, especially when you consider that China is the biggest investor in clean energy worldwide. The country spent $625 billion in 2024 alone…whereas the US has allocated only about $321 billion in clean energy projects since the IRA was passed in 2022.
