Husago in Harlem NYC @ United Volta Association Pre-CEANA Event

Husago is a dance that commemorates the escape of the current Ewes of Ghana from the city of Notsie, in Togo. As the story is told, the Ewes snuck out through a hole in the wall of the city, and walked backwards to confuse anyone who might see them, and this can be seen in many of the dance movements.

Drummers include Elikem Nyamuame, Francis Kofi Akotuah, Atsu Agbeko, Horla Kuttey

This was recorded on July 8, 2017 in Harlem, NY as part of an event hosted by the United Volta Association and the Council of Ewe Association in North America.
