葫蘆絲在中國有千年的歷史，但被人們熟知還是近20年的事，可以說是即古老又年輕，2000年由我國傣族葫蘆絲演奏家哏德全先生髮行了第一張專輯。由於他迷人的音色，又加是易學易帶等諸多優點，一下風迷全球，至此中國葫蘆絲如雨後春筍，由雲南民間走進了千家萬戶。現在機場、超市、飯店等都能聽到葫蘆絲甜美的聲音。
Cucurbit flute has a thousand years of history in China, but it is known for near 20 years. So it can be said that it is old yet young.
