M9 Chartershall Bridge Replacement

Chartershall Bridge is located on M9 motorway, just north of Junction 9, M9/M80 Pirnhall Interchange.

The works involved the demolition of the 4-span Chartershall Bridge and replacement with a single span 2 lane structure that removes the piers from the central reserve and at the back of the hard-shoulders.

The new bridge provides greater headroom clearance over the M9 motorway, and allows the reopening of the unclassified road. This video shows the bridge reconstruction taking place.
