Immune Complex-Mediated Hypersensitivity: Type III Hypersensitivity Reaction

A type III hypersensitivity reaction is caused by immune complexes, which consist of antibodies bound to antigens. Antigens and the resulting immune complexes float freely in the blood. As a result, these immune complexes are more precisely termed soluble immune complexes.
