Joaquin Sorolla “Sea Idyll” Masterpiece Minutes

One of my favorite things to do is visit art museums with my friends and talk about the paintings we see. On my Patreon site, The Painter's Classroom,https://www.patreon.com/viannaszabo I take my students on a virtual museum visit called Masterpiece Minutes. In this series I visit art museums, and film paintings to give you a close up view of master works by master artists. I talk about how they are composed, paint application, edges, values, and color are all discussed in these short bites of art info.

I filmed Joaquin Sorolla's painting "Sea Idyll" on a recent visit to the Cincinnati Art Museum during their exhibition "Treasures of the Spanish World". The painting was on loan from the Hispanic Society of America Museum and Library in New York City.
