Remove Tree Stumps with 5 Ton Harbor Freight Hoist

The Safe and easy way to remove a Tree Stump with a 5 Ton Harbor Freight Hoist and two 20 foot Chains.

I have removed over a dozen stumps with this method. Sometimes I use two hoists to removing a stump that is larger than 18 inches in trunk diameter. The combined force of the hoists is 10 Tons. This is more force than any truck or most backhoes can deliver. You can cause damage to your truck frame, engine or transmission when using your truck to jerk on the stump. The Hoists cost $140 and the chains are $70 a piece total cost of equipment is $280.00 at Harbor Freight.

For safety always stand to the side of the Hoists so that if anything breaks you don't get hit by a breaking chain or flying stump also double up the chain so that if one clevis grab hooks breaks the chain will catch on the second hook. Always listen for signs of the chain breaking or stump breaking.
