Rusty Trick Dog Mechanical Coin Bank Restoration - A Funny Way to Save Money
In today's video I restored a Mechanical Coin Bank , under the name of Trick Dog Mechanical Coin Bank. It's a nice restoration video and the test at the end of the video is very funny. Enjoy the restoration !
About the restoration video :
I saw this mechanical coin bank on Ebay and I decided to buy it for do a restoration. I saw many other models have been restored but this model has not. After the toy came to me, I noticed that many parts were not original (from what I have been able to document before). Which made the restoration more interesting because I had to create some parts on the lathe and milling machine and others needed only restoration. That's mean the restoration process was quite complex but definitely worth it. After the whole restoration , at the end I had to apply a painting job, of which I am very proud of it. As usual , I will tell you how long the restoration took : I worked for a month on the actual restoration, and on editing the restoration video took me 5 days.
Please consider subscribing if you want not to miss the notifications for my next restoration videos. I love you all and I wish you well until next time.
More about this Trick dog Mechanical Coin Bank :
This is an interesting fancy bank. The base of which measures 84 inches in length and 24 inches in width. The bank represents a clown dressed in circus clothes and he hold a hoop; the coin is placed in the dog's mouth and by touching the lever , the dog jumps through the hoop and deposits the coin in the barrel. The "Trick Dog" bank was conceived by Mr. Daniel Cooke, an inventor who resided in Camden, New Jersey. On July 31, 1888, he was granted Design Patent Number 18,489. The bank was initially produced by the Shepard Hardware Company, of Buffalo, New York, and is referred to by collectors as "Trick Dog".
