B.C. Premier John Horgan answers questions from media on snap election | Vancouver Sun

Premier John Horgan is set to call a snap fall election for British Columbia today, gambling his substantial public popularity will overcome any voter blowback caused by plunging the province into electoral uncertainty during record-high COVID-19 cases.

Horgan is set to visit Lt.-Gov. Janet Austin in Victoria this morning to advise she dissolve the legislature, and will speak to reporters at 11 a.m. where he is expected to announce she’s granted his request and thereby kick-started B.C.’s 42nd provincial general election.
