I've found myself in constant cycles of overwhelm and burnout (or near burnout) when I was working full time as a doctor, followed by times where I just wanted to sleep for weeks on end. Why do we find it so hard to properly rest and recharge? Why do we not feel well-rested after our time off work? I was almost constantly overwhelmed when I was a full time doctor. Here are my thoughts on why we find it so hard to properly relax. This is why you're always tired.
