63rd Street: Driving in Southside Chicago 4K: Streets of the Americas

63rd Street in Chicago offshoots East Hayes Drive in Jackson Park in city's southeast side by the shores of Lake Michigan and South Shore Drive which then becomes a major east west thoroughfare that eventually terminates at the intersection of State Highway 171 or 1st Avenue in the City of Summit in southwest side.The street runs through neighborhoods of Woodlawn, West Woodlawn, Parkway Gardens, Englewood, West Englewood, Chicago Lawn, West Lawn, East Clearing, Clearing, West Clearing and City of Summit. The street is a primarily commercial residential and industrial corridor. Transit wise it connects with CTA Green Line and CTA Red Line. Green Line has stations at Cottage Grove, South King Drive, South Halsted, South Racine and South Ashland Avenues. Red Line has a station on median off Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94). It also connects to Chicago Midway International Airport at Cicero Avenue.
Today we will be driving from Jackson Park at tail end of E Hayes Drive to Cicero Avenue. The distance is about 8.1 miles and took about half an hour to complete it. Enjoy!!
