The house in Mobile on Carlisle Dr was purchased for 30k by the film company and then sold for 50k after production of the film shut down. It cost nearly 20 million to produce and almost bankrupted Columbia. Spielberg was forced to end production of the movie, so it could be released to make money. In the end the film grossed over 300 million world wide and latter on Spielberg was able to finish the movie the way he wanted to, which led to additional editions being released. One of the reasons I produced this documentary was due to the large amount of locals that were used in the film.
