Mount Titlis Travel Guide | Engelberg Switzerland

Welcome to Mount Titlis Travel guide in Engelberg Switzerland, which is a small town not far from Lucerne. Whole journey from Titlis Valley Station to the top costs 92 CHF but with Swiss pass not only our train ride was covered but we got 50% discount on ticket price, which we got it at 46 CHF. Kids below 5 travel free. Do note cost of ice flyer is not included in this which costs 12 CHF extra.

From the train station, there is either a 10-12 minutes walk or a 5 minutes shuttle bus ride to the cable car station .Mt Titlis is a year-round destination and has something to offer in every season where the peak of Mount Titlis remains covered with snow for most part of the year.

The first leg of journey is using the 8 seater cable car and it was first time for me seeing people taking there bike hanged outside the cable car. So we hoped on a cart which was all for us from the TITLIS valley station for a beautiful, spectacular and comfy ride to Stand from where to reach top we will have to take the Titlis rotator.

One other thing that you will notice is that all cable cars were having flags of different countries, try to find yours.

At stands we have to change from the Titlis Express to the world’s first revolving cable car! The Titlis Rotator transports you from the middle station at Stand up to 3,020 metres above sea level. The cable car rotates 360 degrees during the five-minute trip, treating you to spectacular panoramic views of rock faces, crevasses and mountain peaks.

After exiting from the rotator we head straight to the ‘Glacier Cave” which is at level 1 . My son started feeling cold as soon he came out the rotator. glacier cave’s 150-metre-long and it descends 20 metres below the surface of the glacier. Just keep in mind its cold and slippery inside so you will need good shoes and warm clothes.

After this we head straight to the top floor to experience the breathtaking view of Mt Titlis. For me it was an experience of lifetime

The views of snow-capped mountaintops and untouched Alpine landscapes will make you forget the cold weather outside . This was an amazing family time which I can never forget especially playing snow with my son.

Then i went on the #Cliff Walk which is the Europe highest suspension bridge at 3041 meter height . It was a special experience to walk on this bridge where you can look down into the deep valleys. Also you will notice that the bridge swings if there are more people on the bridge which is 100 meter long.

Next we took the #IceFlyer which is a chairlift adjacent to Cliff Walk suspension bridge. This view from the chairlift were mesmerising and so beautiful. initially it was scary as you have to sit on your own and your legs suddenly lie hanging from great heights , but after some time you get use to it.

If you are coming in summer then I would definitely recommend taking IceFlyer as it will give you access to glacier park which was my favourite attraction.

Now after one full day of fun who does not want to have some tasty food, this was the last place I thought I will get samosa and then the Masala Tea in the cold weather was like heaven. After a tiring journey at Titlis, this place is heaven
