As HEAVY as it GETS! Perfectly spec’d WESTERN STAR 49X! DD16 x ALLISON 4700 @SeriousTrucks

Take a look at this unique SEVERE DUTY Western Star 49X! Today I’ll show you this awesome @SeriousTrucks #49x and explain some of the options this customer took advantage of, as well as dive into some options that could have been chosen to take it even further. This is a truck that ended up requiring heavy modification in order to be repurposed for an alternate customer after complications made it incompatible for the vocation it was originally intended for. But our service department at @TruckcentercompaniesUSA was able to make the modifications and execute this project quickly and get it done correctly. Shoutout to Jeremy in the Mankato service department. He had to drill over 100 holes to relocate the 60k Dana tandems, and through 15mm rails with additional insert (double frame) but his measurements were perfect and the truck is straight as an arrow! This was a fun project and the truck will do awesome for the final end user after they install their fuel tanker body. The Detroit DD16 power mated to the Allison big boy 4700 will outrun anything out there. This is a hell of a truck. And there’s more to it than the power. The powerful DD16 / Allison 4700 pairing is sitting on a 15mm DOUBLE frame, held up by a 22,000lbs Meritor steer axle with 425 Michelin rubber, and **60,000lbs** Dana tandems with dualed Michelin 315 wrapped around @alcoa high polish 22.5s. This really is as tough as it gets. And I’ll take some time to tell you even more that could have been put on this truck to deck it out.
