Passion Fruit performing their first single "The Rigga-Ding-Dong-Song" live on the "The Dome 10" show in Leipzig, Germany, on May 28th, 1999.
Passion Fruit was a bubblegum pop trio consisting of Nathalie van het Ende (January 2, 1975 – November 24, 2001), Maria Serrano Serrano (November 26, 1973 – November 24, 2001) and Deborah St. Maarten (born 1973). Serrano Serrano is the mother of German rapper Jamule.

Passion Fruit got their start in June 1999 with the Top 10 dance-pop hit "The Rigga-Ding-Dong-Song". "Wonderland", "Sun Fun Baby" and "Bongo Man" followed in 2000 and 2001, all making the Top 40 on the German singles chart. While Maria, Debby and Nathalie sang some vocals, the lead vocals for the songs were performed by Cuban-German singer Leticia Pareja-Padron. The rap parts were done by singer Kenneth KC Clemmons.

On November 24, 2001, the group was on board Crossair Flight 3597 from Berlin to Zurich when it crashed on approach towards Zürich International Airport near the town of Bassersdorf. St. Maarten was the only band member to survive.
