Have we thought about renewable energy?? | TINY HOUSE

Solar panels, wind turbines, being off-grid, this week we briefly discuss what options we have about renewable energy.

In a nutshell really, our house is like a conventional house in that it runs entirely on a 240v system. This is great but it also means that we consume as much power as a conventional house just on a smaller scale.

We currently use around 80kwh of electricity per week, baring in mind it's winter and we also have no gas this isn't too bad. It does mean though that to have an off-grid setup to regenerate that amount of power would need to be substantial.

The house isn't designed to be off-grid and if you were to convert it then it would cost around £10,000 give or take which is an awful lot of money and makes no financial sense.

We may get some form of setup but right now it just isn't worth it. I hope you found this video useful :)
