Bazeni Kosutnjak Beograd

The Košutnjak Open Swimming Pool complex of the Institute of Sports and Sports Medicine of the Republic of Serbia was built with the financial support of the city of Belgrade in the period from 1967 to 1972 for the purpose of holding the First World Championships in aquatic sports in Belgrade in 1973. Competitions in swimming, water polo (men), synchronized swimming (women) and diving was under the auspices of FINA (Fédération Internationale de Natation Amateur) from August 13 to September 9, 1973.
One of the many competitions, which were held at the Kosutnjak Open Swimming Pool, was the Diving Championship at the 2009 Universiade.
The outdoor swimming pool complex includes five pools (Olympic, "school", "recreational" and "children's" pools and a diving pool), with the necessary supporting infrastructure. Next to the Olympic pool there are stands with a capacity of 650 seats. As part of this complex, there is also an administrative building, an infirmary, a gym, a beach volleyball court, a restaurant and 2 cafes.
For the needs of the water polo team and swimming, in the period from September to the beginning of the swimming season, a balloon is raised over the Olympic pool. This area is available to representative selections in water sports, sports and recreational swimming clubs and citizens. Within the swimming pool there is also an indoor facility with changing rooms with a capacity for 200 users, which can also be used by disabled people.
When weather conditions permit, night swimming is also possible.
