Osu Kutiya Season 2 - Ladies’ Fingers Curry (බණ්ඩක්කා කරිය)
Okra, or Ladies Fingers (Bandakka), is a highly nutritious vegetable rich in many vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, such as Vitamin, A, C, K, B6, Magnesium, Folate, Fibre and Proteins (one of its more unique nutrients). It is a vegetable that is very low in calories, and therefore the ideal food for weight watchers.
Eating Okra can benefit your health in many ways, including weight management, controlling diabetes, and it benefits bone structure and muscle mass. In addition, it has also been found to reduce the risk of heart disease.
This is a delicious vegetable to add to your daily Rice & Curry, but many people are averse to it because of the slimy effect that it has. However, today our celebrity Chef shows us how we can make a delicious and nutritious Okra curry, without the slime, in addition to giving us many extra tips regarding healthy cooking and healthy food.
Today’s episode of Osu Kutiya Season 2, features Chef Publis making his own recipe for Okra curry, where I had the privilege of being his assistant for the day!
