Lorenzo's Workshop: Writing and Sealing Letters

This video describes how to write, fold, and seal a letter in the 16th century style.

Folding and letterlocking techniques are largely drawn from the amazing resources at http://letterlocking.org

Likewise, Bess of Hardwick's Letters (https://www.bessofhardwick.org) provided a wealth of knowledge on the form and materials of letters of the period.

I also recommend these books for more information on the writing and sending of letters:

Daybell, James. _The material letter in early modern England : manuscript letters and the culture and practices of letter-writing, 1512-1635_. Houndmills, Basingstoke, Hampshire New York: Palgrave Macmillan, 2012.

Stewart, Alan, and Heather Wolfe. _Letterwriting in Renaissance England_. Washington, D.C. Seattle: Folger Shakespeare Library Distributed by University of Washington Press, 2004.
