Options Trading | Where newbs mess up

It’s wonderful that education on options trading is more accessible today, more new traders trade options than ever before, however it’s easy to make mistakes and even lose money with options trading so in this video I want to cover the mistakes newbies make.

Only Buying options
The issue with only buying options, is as a beginner the odds are against you.
So you need to be right on the direct and the time when buying options… which is HARD.

Selling options have greater than a 50% chance of success, so you can be slightly wrong about the direction and slightly wrong about the time and still be profitable. There’s less variables involved and things like theta help out.

Doesn't mean you can’t make money buying options, just means it’s harder, so as a beginner it’s best to learn all strategies.
Not having a long term portfolio. Options are an advanced trading tool, so to not have a long term portfolio setup, is a bit odd.

Only using options as leverage. You can use options to hedge, to trade volatile, to sell stock at higher prices, to buy stocks at lower prices, collect income and more.
