Stationed at Fort Johnson, LA? Check Out KISATCHIE for Great Camping and more!

Another great spot to enjoy near Fort Polk, LA is the Kisatchie National Forest! We went to explore what it had to offer on a cold and rare snowy day in Louisiana.

There are established camping grounds as well as locations to "disperse" camping where there are no amenities...just you and the forest!

Fires are permitted and you'll see fire pits at dispersed sites that can be reused.

The river was flowing fast from all of the snow and rain but read that the river slows down so people can safely go swimming and do some fishing.

Get out there and explore!
