Manchester Tart | School Dinner Nostalgia

Manchester Tart - sweet shortcrust pastry, raspberry jam, optional sliced bananas, set custard, a sprinkling of coconut. And if you were lucky, a cherry on top. This glorious dessert, Manchester Tart, was a staple of many a school dinner in the UK, probably up until the 80s. I loved it (except for the bananas), but never knew what it was called.
