M901 (M113 variant) ITV for it's first run.

This M901 was a close to a stripped hull when we received it. The engine, transmission, transfer case, differential, final drives, sprockets, tracks and much more were missing when we received it. The only really thing good we could say about it that it didn't have any rocket holes AND it did come with official release documents from the government.

After much searching by staff and friends, we slowly started putting it back together one part at at time. Worn out road wheels were replaced where needed. The "power pack" we found looked as if it been sitting outside for several years but it seemed complete. We were just hoping that the engine or transmission weren't bad and that's the reason they were pulled in the first place.

Well, we fired it up last week and today we installed the tracks. It was getting close to sunset so I the shop chief had the honors of taking her for the first spin. We will get more video of once it's painted and everything is bolted back in place.

This APC is powered by a Detroit Diesel 653 and mated to a Allison 200-X transmission. I didn't think it would be this responsive but it definitely put the driver back in his seat and he only gave it half-throttle.
