Tastefully renovated historic holiday home in authentic Calabrian hillside town, 9 km from the beautiful Western coast of Calabria. Spread over 3 floors; 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, each with shower and bidet, equipped kitchen & dining area.

A balcony runs the length of the middle floor with an upper roof terrace with views of the coast and setting sun.
The master bedroom and living room have french windows opening onto the balcony and your first view from your bed will be the of the sea and sky. Suitable al fresco dining, yoga or sunbathing. Bedding and towels provided. Bring your swimsuit. We keep EM radiation to a minimum so no wifi, phone etc. Some local cafes and restaurants have wifi so do ask.

There is a TV with a range of DVDs to watch, books to read and maps of the area to facilitate your sightseeing. Small iphone/ipad music system that plays and charges your phone.

Santa Domenica Talao is a picturesque village. The home is a short walk from the Piazza, shops, cafes and Post Office. However as with many Italian paese homes built in the Centro Storico are often accessible via steep steps and pathways so suitable for the more able-bodied. This would not be suitable for somebody requiring wheelchair access. There is a short walk to one of several free car park areas.

If you do not wish to hire a care there are several buses/Pullman than go either through or just below the town to the neighbouring towns and the seaside town of Scalea. The service is thrice daily during the school term and may be less so during holiday time.

We may accept bookings from a small number of people but there is a minimum 4 days stay. Rental fee varies with the season; ie high season commands Eur 1000 per week, less out of season.

This is a holiday location that suits young and old, singles and families. There are so many local attractions to see, from the National Park to the local beaches, go kart racing to canoeing, fishing or simply lazing in the sun, there is something for all. The food is local and great, fresh figs, bread, cheeses and wine from the local shops and there are many supermarkets in Scalea, 9 km away, for a big shop.

There is a local agent to welcome you, hand over the keys and show you round the house. This home has large and very light rooms which is unusual for a period home of this type. Is is private and welcoming and you will feel that you can really get away from it all, if that is what you need.
