"This is the plug of our air conditioner, which we first need to connect to the smart plug. And now the smart plug goes into the socket. Our setup is complete, and the app will now show us the real-time power consumption. As the AC runs, we’ll be able to see how much power it’s consuming moment by moment, and the total power used over the course of one hour."

"Now let’s begin the test. This is the remote for the LG AC. It has a '16-in-1' mode — pressing it once sets it to AC mode, which means the air conditioner operates at 100% cooling. We’ve turned it on using this mode."

"But the advantage of an inverter AC is that as the room cools down, it automatically reduces its power consumption. That’s why we’re focusing on the total one-hour consumption here."

"At this point, you can see that the voltage drawn by the air conditioner is around 1782 watts, which means it's running on full load right now. So now I’ll skip ahead and show you the results after one full hour. The time is exactly 2:00 PM now — let’s check back at 3:00 PM."

"And here we are — after running for one hour, the air conditioner has consumed around 1.65 units, or close to 1.7 units of electricity. Also, as you can see here, the power consumption has reduced compared to the start. Initially, the AC was drawing around 1756 watts, and now it’s running at around 1557 watts. That means a drop of about 200 watts."

"This is the benefit of inverter technology — as the room reaches the desired temperature, power usage gradually drops. If we continue running the inverter AC for longer periods, the average consumption will become even lower.
