Why Do Black People Hate Black People So Much?

Question: Why Do Some Black People Hate Each Other So Much?

In this video I provide 5 reasons why there is so much self-hate present within the African-American community. One of the main reasons why there is so much hatred within the African-American community is because there is a general lack of trust amongst African-American people. This lack of trust is expressed in many ways and is a consequence of the levels of fear that we have towards each other. Within the African-American community there is a history of betrayal, not the least of which is the parental betrayal that comes in the form of child abuse and child abandonment.

There are many African-American children who have experienced so much abuse at the hands of their own parents that it becomes difficult for these children to develop levels of child/parent trust. In not being able to trust their own parents it becomes very difficult to trust anyone else outside of their family structure; including other people in the African-American community. In many cases this lack of trust is the result of parental fear that is developed within African-American children. A contributing factor to this parental fear happens to be the extreme levels of physical abuse and violence that many African-American children experience at the hands of their parents. This fear leads to anger, low self-esteem, and hatred towards other African-American people.

There is also the issue of verbal abuse that many African-American children experience. This verbal abuse is largely expressed by family members but is also expressed within the African-American community. As an example, there is a language of hatred that many African-Americans employ specifically when talking to other African-Americans. This language, which is rooted in self-hate, is not only abusive but also leads to hatred towards other African-Americans. “Playing the dozens” or “Bassing” or “Beefing” is a way of verbally abusing, disrespecting, and demoralizing another African-American until the other person is psychologically and or emotionally broken. This verbal joisting often goes unchecked within the African-American community and does great damage to the self-esteem of African-American children; a damage that ultimately expresses itself in the form of hatred towards other African-Americans.
Here are some of the terminology that is used within these levels of verbal abuse; verbal abuse that is not only expressed amongst children, but also is expressed from parent to child:

You ain’t shit
You ain’t nothin’ and you ain’t going to be nothin’
You are a stupid ass
You are so ugly
You are so black
You are so stupid
You got big lips
You are an African-Booty scratcher
You mama jokes
You ain't no good just like your father
Nigger

Other contributing factors to black self-hate discussed in this video include:

The Public Education System which perpetuates miseducation and low self esteem. Slavery / Racial Stereotypes

Mass Media: Television / Radio / Internet / Movies / Books (promotes low self-esteem)

Lack of positive examples of black love. Parents / Relatives/ Peer groups / Mass Media

Lack of a loving upbringing within the African-American family structure. Parents / Grandparents / Cousins / Siblings / Aunts / Uncles ………..Verbal Abuse / Physical Abuse / Parental Abandonment
