Amid aftershocks, emergency responders continue search and rescue operations | DW News

A massive earthquake has hit Taiwan, damaging buildings and infrastructure and knocking out power to tens of thousands of people.
The strongest earthquake for 25 years was centered near the city of Hualien on Taiwan's eastern coast. At least nine people have been killed and
more than 900 confirmed injured.
Government officials say more than 70 people are trapped, after tunnels and dozens of buildings collapsed. The seismic event was so strong that it initially prompted tsunami warnings for Japan and the Philippines, which were later withdrawn.
