Journey Museum Beading & Fancywork of the Plains Indians

The Journey Museum, Rapid City SD: Beading, sewing, artwork of Native American People from Prehistoric times to present. From tools to ceremonial intricacies, Indian peoples designed their wares to be both beautiful and useful whether it be jewelry, clothing or the shoes they wore. Here are examples of dresses, moccasins, knife sheathes, dolls, belts, flutes, pipes and ceremonial and daily use items adorned with beads and natural materials. Native American People used the resources at hand to make the things they needed to survive and flourish. They adorned them with symbols of their creator and the earth with which they had utmost respect and devotion.
