How to choose a book for reading in Russian:
A1 and A2 mostly use special texts written for these levels to train certain vocabulary and grammar topics.
B1 and B2 (sometimes even A2) should use adapted literature. It is native Russian texts adapted to your current level.
C1 and C2 should use the texts that were written for Russian native speakers.
Video timing:
00:49 - how to choose books for reading according to your level
02:12 - what is "adapted literature" and why it is important for language learning
02:54 - where to find adapted literature in Russian
03:29 - adapted book for A2 "Человек-амфибия" by Alexander Belyaev
06:14 - how the book looks inside
07:38 - Zlatoust website structure
09:00 - where to buy Russian adapted e-books
09:24 - series of books for B1-B2 of modern Russian author Boris Akunin
My recommendations:
Read the books out loud.
If it is hard to understand it, read it a few times.
Do the exercises after each chapter.
Challenge yourself - retell each chapter out loud.
This way your reading will be the most efficient!
And the most important: enjoy the process!!!
