Native American Flute Circles Hate Me and Why Native Flute Makers Should Thank Me

I decided to make this video to get some things off my chest and to share with you some things you may not know.

Flute circles were created as a way for like minded people to gather and share. Over time some of these groups have become more of an exclusive hierarchy bent on pushing their own agenda, no matter what the cost may be to someone else, and I am not talking about financial cost.

After hearing one of my customers being told by one of these self righteous, self proclaimed experts that they shouldn't even attempt to try making a flute I felt infuriated! I have always promoted free information and have shared every in and out 'secret' of Native American Flute Making. For someone to convince another human being that they CAN NOT do something goes against everything this channel promotes and has tried to instill in other people who are seeking knowledge and who may need encouragement.

And then there are the flute makers. I have helped countless flute makers learn things they have never considered. Large, well known flute making companies have purchased and copied my flutes without ever acknowledging this fact. That's ok. I share this information freely. If they can benefit from me, great. There's a meme out there of the character Nelly from Little house on the Prairie making a scrunched up face and the caption reads: "Right now someone is looking at your page like this" and its so funny to me because I can imagine all of these private flute groups who have been known to bad mouth me (without knowing me personally) secretly watching all of my videos and watching everything I do and I imagine this must be the face they are making.

Finally, a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have followed Blue Bear Flutes over the years. Some of you have been with me from the very start and I am so grateful you continue to watch. Thank you to all of you newbies and to everyone who has given words of encouragement. Thank you to anyone who TRIES who wants to try and to those of you who fail over and over again yet you still TRY. I did not get here because I have never made a mistake. I am here because I never give up.
