Suitable replacement laces for 1968 USGI Jungle boots

I’ve enjoyed wearing different pairs of real USGI jungle boots over the last 30 years, but have noticed with each larger size up as my foot grew, the 59 inch long issue laces don’t have enough slack to tie tight knots starting around foot size 12. Well this PMI 3mm utility cord fits the bill when cut to 84 inches, and gives the length to tie single or double knots.
