Khushwant Singh, Indian novelist on V. S. Naipaul being awarded the Nobel prize
Khushwant Singh, Indian novelist speaks about Mr. Naipaul being awarded the nobel prize. He says, "I think every Indian should be in my case small so because he's been a friend for over 30-35 years whenever he's been in India he made it a point to spend a couple of evenings with me I've taken him out many places even Bombay and here and he's become a very good friend of my son and I know that some other members of the family his brother Shiva also not list tonight and his mother over here she visited India sometime later I don't know whether she is still alive she went back to Trinidad where they come from.
I am very happy in significantly the first man of Indian descent writing English who got the Nobel prize and the second Indian after Gurudev Tagore 1913 so it should be matter of the great pride for the whole country. I read his first novel for me the first novel "A House from Mr. Biswas' I sensed this there was a new star originally literary firmament and I knew we would do extremely well and then he wrote travelogues, books on history explaining the clash of civilisations, two books on India, two books on the phenomena of Islamic impact on nations and recently this novel which I reviewed and it's in incredible that only four days before the announcement."
