Companion Rover 70 Lithium power pack review - HGT Y62 Patrol new rig build Garage Life

Companion Rover lithium 70ah power station review.
When it comes to 4wd touring and vehicle based camping you need an auxiliary power option. It just makes life easier, and of course once you have had it you can’t live without it. This is my case.

We decided to do something a little different and use a Companion Rover lithium 70 power pack this time. Why? There are so many reasons.
• Its size - for such a powerful unit it is a tiny size
• Weight – it is under 7kgs for comparison my last set up was around 35kgs
• Versatility - it can be used across multiple vehicles and charged multiple ways
• Different – I couldn’t pass up the opportunity of having a new build and doing something different.

The Rover 70 has 70ah of lithium battery in a tiny package. The unit has 5 USB outlets (1 USB C), a 12v Cig, a 2 pin plug and Anderson via adapter. So you couldn’t get much more power outlet options.

It has the ability to be charged on mains power, 12v cig from your car and solar input via Anderson with its own MPPT regulator built in. It is also packed with safety features like over/ under voltage, and temperature to name a couple.

My initial testing has found it can run a 60L fridge for 33hrs with no charge. I am confident this will be a great set up and are looking forward to putting it to test in the real world. So stay tuned for updates.
