1966 Nova Relay Wiring: Powered by Coffee and Questionable Decisions

Today I’m diving into some essential electrical work and project‑car fundamentals. In this video, I cover relay wiring, relay modification for both positive and negative triggers, how a relay actually operates, and the right way to mount relays safely and cleanly. Welcome back to the Pole Barn of Bad Decisions and Broken Dreams — where the coffee is always hot, the wiring is questionable, and the relays fear me more than I fear them.

We also tackle relay mounting, which is basically Car Guy LEGOS but with foot injuries, and then I install a gas pedal like a man who absolutely did not lose the mounting hardware 8 years ago. Speaking of hardware — yes, I talk about proper fasteners, because apparently drywall threads are not the universal solution some believe.

Then we get into the real challenge: using common sense during re‑assembly of a long‑term project.
Common sense, by the way, is like my coffee supply — it runs out fast and usually at the worst possible moment.

And just when you think the chaos is over, the Great Pyrenees Judgment Committee — Alfred, George, and Cody — stroll in at the end to deliver their official review: Zero out of Ten. Not impressed. Apparently they don't want to hire me to re-wire a doghouse.
