Sita Sings the Blues - Psychedelic Sitar, Shamisen & Flute Instrumental Version (Ramayana)

This is a derivative work of Nina Paley's inspiring animation "Sita Sings the Blues". "Sita Sings the Blues" is based on the Hindu epic "The Ramayana". Sita is a goddess separated from her beloved Lord and husband Rama.

Ms. Paley is a revolutionary artist who advocates copyleft licences and free culture movement. The free culture movement is a social movement that promotes the freedom to distribute and modify creative works in the form of free content by using the Internet and other forms of media.

This is my take on a part of her amazing work. Watch the full movie with narrations here - http://www.sitasingstheblues.com/

The sitar, the shamisen and the flute are going through Earthquaker Devices Transmisser, Dispatch Master Digitech Obscura and Count to Five.

The aFrame drum is plugged into Rang III which is midi synced to the Beatbuddy. MIDI sync: BeatBuddy (Master) - Boomerang III (Slave) : (connect BB MIDI Out to Rang MIDI In).

Tanpura drone was pre-recorded after going through Electro Harmonics Pitchfork (at 1 octave lower) and C9 to make it sound like a harmonium.
