BREAKING: Timelines and Details Released for FCC Broadband Map and BEAD Funds Disbursement

The FCC announced today that the first version of the new Broadband Map will be released on November 18th. The map will be composed of the Broadband Serviceable Locations identified in the Broadband Fabric, plus information provided by Internet Service Providers on which locations they are able to provide service with a standard installation. The public will be allowed to view the map and challenge the data, and government entities will be able to submit bulk challenges to the availability data. In conjunction with the FCC announcement, the NTIA has said that they expect to announce BEAD funding amounts that are based on the FCC broadband availability data by June 30th of 2023.
