Most people live in cities or urban areas, but they may want to escape to the great outdoors. Wonderful! The more people who care about the wilderness, the more wilderness will be cared for.

But Mother Nature is not a benign earth goddess - she can be a real witch.

So if you have no wilderness experience, here are a few things you should know, or at least think about before you head out.
