Our plans for banning ivory

Today we set out plans to ban ivory sales to help bring an end to the poaching of elephants.

Our proposals will put the UK front and centre of global efforts to end the insidious trade in ivory.

This new ban will build on government work both at home and overseas to tackle poaching and the illegal ivory trade.
