Winter storm gives us a window to escape the van

Our VW California camper van is great but, a window in the bad weather allowed us to finally get out for a walk in Langdale and Elterwater, Lake District. We endured more rain for the waterfalls but a dry river walk with nature and views was welcome after holding up in our tiny T5 van.
National Trust stickle barn carpark is a great location to stay the night and we ventured into the pub for hot chocolate in front of the fire to dry our goretex jackets.
Then headed on a walk through the village to Elterwater but, the previous days of heavy rain stopped us in our tracks as the river had spilled out onto the walkway so we did what we do best, head to Keswick for fish & chips from another cheap parkup with wildlife outside our van.
