131% Rec.2020?! TCL CSOT’s RGBC (Cyan) Display Explained… & More

At SID Display Week 2026, TCL CSOT unveiled a next-generation display capable of achieving up to 131% BT.2020 colour gamut using a novel RGBC (cyan-augmented) subpixel structure.

In this video, we take a closer look at how this expanded colour volume is achieved, what it means for real-world image reproduction, and whether pushing beyond BT.2020 actually delivers visible benefits.

Beyond this headline technology, TCL CSOT also showcased its broader APEX display strategy, spanning:

- Advanced LCD innovations, including RGBC and high-efficiency backlight systems
- IJP OLED (inkjet-printed OLED) developments and their potential manufacturing advantages
- XR-focused displays, targeting higher pixel density and improved visual immersion

As always, the focus is on technical explanation and real-world relevance, cutting through marketing terminology to understand what these innovations may (or may not) mean for future TVs and displays.

The "Includes Paid Promotion" message in this video refers to the sponsorship by TCL CSOT. More info about the company can be found here: https://www.linkedin.com/company/chinastaroptoelectronicstechnology/
