Free Laptops in UAE Schools 💻📚 | Students Must Sign Digital Safety Pledge

The new academic year in the UAE has brought major updates for students across government schools. 💻✨ Pupils from Grade 5 onwards are receiving free laptops, but with this privilege comes responsibility.

Students and their guardians must now sign a pledge committing to safe and responsible laptop use. The agreement includes 23 provisions that clearly outline what is — and isn’t — allowed.

🚫 Prohibited activities include:

Sharing others’ personal data 🔒

Using devices for commercial, political, or illegal purposes

Accessing pornographic or inappropriate content

Attempting to hack or access unauthorized accounts

Harassment, hate speech, or disrupting the school’s network

Downloading games, entertainment apps, or unapproved software 🎮❌

✅ The rules ensure laptops remain focused on education only. Devices must also be returned if a student transfers to a non-MOE school. Each laptop comes with a four-year warranty, though replacements are not provided in cases of loss, theft, or damage.

This initiative reflects the UAE’s vision for a digitally responsible student community. Alongside laptops, over 46,888 laptops and 10 million textbooks have been distributed, 5,560 school buses deployed, and 9 new schools opened to welcome more than 25,000 students.
