LIVE: Moscow marks 78th anniversary of legendary 1941 military parade

A military parade takes place in Moscow's Red Square on Thursday, November 7, in a ceremony re-enacting the 1941 historic military parade where troops marched past the Kremlin before heading to the World War II battlefields.

The parade will see thousands of troops marching, consisting of a military band, guards of honour, soldiers, cadets and military school students.

The march will also include around ten units of historical military equipment, including Katusha rocket launchers, artillery guns and others.

Around 7,000 guests have been invited to the parade, including 1,200 veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
