Ullswater, Lake District, UK

Lake District is a national park located in the county of Cumbria Northwest of England. It was established in 1951 and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017. With its beautiful landscape, Lake District is one of the best places for walking, camping, hiking and other outdoor activities.

One of the scenic walks in the Lake District is walking along the Ullswater shore to Silver Point. The walk started from the beautiful village of Patterdale and if you want to know the full direction of this walk you can find it in Ordinance Survey Map explorer OL5.

This 4 mile circular walk strolls through mixed woodland and open aspect above the shores of the lake and offers a fantastic view of the lake, valley and other surrounding landscapes.

Ullswater it is the second largest lake measuring 8.9 sq km next to Windermere and was formed during the last ice age. Its water is exceptionally clear and at its deepest part lives a curious fish called the schelly, a creature akin to the freshwater herring. Several villages are around Ullswater and some that are mostly visited are Patterdale, Glenridding, Howtown, Pooley Bridge and Martindale. Patterdale and Glenridding can be viewed during our walk.
