Over the past year I have dove in a number of locations offshore Florida's Gulf and Atlantic Coasts. I have seen first hand some of the highest densities of lionfish in their invaded range and the impact they can have on the native ecosystems. There is good news. Lionfish taste great and although they have invaded most reefs in the western Atlantic Ocean, they have also invaded restaurants throughout the region.
