Step 1 - Multiply units and get last digit
i.e. 3x1 = 3
Step 2 - Cross Multiply and Add
2x1 + 3x4 = 2 + 12 = 14
last digit will be the second last digit of answer i.e. 4 and 1 will be carry
Step 3 - Multiply tens and add carry
2x4 = 8
8 +1= 9 i.e. the first digit of answer.
