Rethymnon

Sitting below the remains of an old Venetian fortress is the old town of Rethymnon, a maze of pretty narrow streets with old venetian architecture and an old picturesque taverna lined Venetian harbour.
Rethymnon also has a modern town with many hotels and a modern harbour from where boat trips leave for Santorini and other destinations.
